Norm is the recipient of a Congressional Leadership Award and one of CNN's "Ten National Innovators" changing lives in America. A dedicated humanitarian and Global Goodwill Ambassador, Norm is also a recognized pioneer and visionary in the field of youth innovation and empowerment. He was recognized by Industry Era as a Best Education Leader in 2021.
In 2003 he co-founded By Kids For Kids Co. with his daughter Cassidy, to create a company that empowers kids to innovate and develop critical and creative thinking skills.
Norm is an entrepreneur and inventor named on 6 U.S. patents. He has worked with Walker Digital and Sharper Image managing patents and licensing.
Vice President, Educational Outreach
Julio Abreu has more than 35 years of experience in educational publishing and marketing. Previously, Julio was Executive Vice President of General Learning Corporation (GLC), where he oversaw educational and health care publishing groups. Over the years, he also developed educational programs sponsored by organizations such as General Motors, DuPont, the U.S. Navy, and Participant Media. After leaving GLC, Julio became president and owner of A+ Media, a strategic communications firm that has produced a wide range of digital resources for both non-profit and for-profit organizations.
After graduating from Rider University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, Julio received his Master's in Spanish Literature and Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also did doctoral studies. Abreu is an Emeritus Director of College Bound Opportunities (CBO), a nonprofit that helps talented, low-income students get into --and graduate from --college. Presently, Julio is on the Rider University's Board of Trustees.
